A Letter to Buckeye Nation

This past year has allowed me to reconnect with my “Why” of coaching. Working with and mentoring young men, watching them develop, compete, and push each other every single day; there’s nothing quite like it. The energy these players bring, the trust they put in you, the way they play for each other. That’s why you love this game.

I’m proud to announce I’ve signed a contract extension to continue leading Ohio State’s defense.

To Coach Day: Thank you for trusting me to lead this defense. Your belief in what we could build together is the reason I came here, and I’m excited to keep building with you.

To President Carter and AD Ross Bjork: Thank you for your support of this program and the people in it.

To the coaches and the players: You gave me your trust from the beginning. You bought in, coached hard, played fast, played physical, and worked for each other. I’m proud of this group.

To Buckeye Nation: The passion you bring every Saturday, the way you support these young men; it’s something special. The Shoe on a Saturday is like nowhere else in the country. You didn’t just embrace a football coach. You embraced my family. You’ve made us feel at home. We appreciate that more than you know.

I’m beyond grateful for the opportunity to continue defending The Shoe.
